We Must Pray For Our Leaders

All power is of God. And the powers that be are ordained of GOD, from the least to the greatest. From the President of these United States to the Single Parent Home and the Single Occupant Home Leader. God is in control. Therefore children and people of God, to resist the powers is to resist God. Read and learn about this in Romans 13:1-2.

We also find in Proverbs 21:1 reading this way…The *Lord can change the king’s mind. The *Lord does what he wants to do. The *Lord can change the direction of a stream. In the same way, the *Lord can change the thoughts of a king. Copied from the Easy English Version of the Bible-

When the children of Israel were exiled to Babylon, God commanded them to do this. “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon; Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished. And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace”.

SLT CrossesHey, we may not be a people in exile as far as it goes to the country that we reside in. But many of us as believers have exiled hearts and minds. Minds and hearts that are held captive to the wisdom of this world and it’s worldly and pagan system of thinking. The Lord Jesus did not call us out of the kingdom of darkness to spread gossip and propaganda. He called us to be a light that shines in a dark and dreary world. We are supposed to be that city on a hill that can’t be hidden. We are supposed to be a people that the world can run too and find answers and solutions to the problems that exist in our society.

In 1st Timothy, we find this command…I exhort, therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

1Ti 2:2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

People of God, we must pray for our Leaders. It’s time to stop murmuring and complaining. It’s time to stop talking about it, and start praying about it.
